Find Your Love Corner
Posters put love in one corner of every home. The Feng Shui this site calculates does not. Here is the bagua idea, the personal-direction idea, and the limit of both.

The corner on the poster
A popular Western bagua map lays a square over the floor plan, usually from the door, and assigns each ninth of the house a life topic. Relationship or “love” is one of those ninths. The advice that follows is familiar: pair objects, add pink, clear clutter in that square, do not store junk on the relationship. Some of the clearing is the same good housekeeping as the entryway. The map itself is a particular school, often called Black Hat or BTB, and it gives the same topic to the same square in every home. That universality is the part to see clearly. The corner does not know who lives there. Partners with different lives share one square because the door is in one place. If that is the method you enjoy, use it as a way to choose a shelf and keep it kind. Do not use it as a finding about the relationship. A tidy shelf has never been a partner.
What this site calculates instead
FateAlign Lab’s Feng Shui is Eight Mansions (八宅). The comment in the method is explicit: it is not the Western bagua map. A personal trigram, the kua, comes from the birth year — with the Beginning of Spring as the year boundary — and from the gender the classical rule requires. From that trigram the method names four favorable directions and four unfavorable ones. They differ by person. Two people in one flat do not automatically share a love corner, because they do not automatically share a kua. Among the four favorable directions, Yan Nian (延年) is the one traditionally read in connection with relationship and longevity. It sits on a different compass bearing for different kua. There is no single “far right of the door” that this method will call love for everyone. If a reading gives you that universal corner and calls it your Eight Mansions result, it has changed schools in the middle of the sentence. The calculation lives on the Feng Shui page. It wants a birth date and a facing. It does not want a pink object.
Directions are not a portrait of the couple
Even inside Eight Mansions, a favorable direction is a sitting or facing preference. It is not a description of how two people treat each other. For that, this tradition uses the charts. A Ba Zi compatibility reading compares two full pillar sets, not two compass bearings. The notes on reading two charts and on Day Master pairs are the right size for that question. Mixing them with a love corner produces a story in which a sofa placement explains a marriage. The sofa does not have that information. Zi Wei’s Spouse Palace is a third language again: stars in a palace, placed from the birth hour. It will not confirm the bagua square and it does not need to. If you want it, it is on the Zi Wei page. Collecting three systems until one of them blesses the relationship is not research. It is shopping for a yes.
If you still want a corner
Keep the part that does not depend on a school. Make the room where you actually talk to each other fit to sit in. See the door if you can. Do not line the bed up like a runway. Give yourselves a surface that is clear enough to put a cup down. Those are the command position and the cleared room, and they help because bodies live in rooms. Then, if you want a direction that is yours rather than the poster’s, get it from the Feng Shui reading and remember it can differ from your partner’s. And if you want a symbolic reading of the two people, start with your own free Ba Zi chart before you ask for theirs. A love corner that replaces that conversation is only a corner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the love corner?
In the popular bagua overlay it is one fixed sector of the plan, often described from the front door. In Eight Mansions it is not a fixed sector. The relationship-related direction depends on the person’s kua.
Do both partners use the same direction?
Only if their kua results say so. Do not move a bed to suit one person and tell the other it is “the” couple’s direction.
Will objects in a love corner bring a relationship?
No. Objects can make a corner pleasant. They do not produce a person, repair a breach, or time a meeting.
See your own chart before you decide what any of this means for you. The free Ba Zi chart uses your birth date, time and city.
